Tot Shabbat

Meets on the
fourth Friday of every month, 6:30pm
You
are warmly invited to a very special Shabbat experience
for 2-5 year olds and their grown-ups!
If
there are young children in your
family, you are warmly invited to bring them to Tot Shabbat on the
fourth Friday of every month.
It's a wonderful way to introduce your pre-schoolers to Shabbat and to
other
Jewish families.
We love the fact that we have all
kinds of families at Tot Shabbat. Some have two Jewish parents and some
have
one. We have gay families, multiracial families and families with
single
parents. Sometimes grandparents bring their grandchildren.
Starting around 6:30 we have about
20 minutes of program. We get to know each other and explore one Jewish
concept
in a way that is very child-friendly. Then we light Shabbat candles,
say
blessings over grape juice and bread, and eat a vegetarian dairy
potluck. After
dinner we have a little service for another 20 minutes. Then the kids
play
together until 8 or 8:15. It's not a problem when children with early
bedtimes
leave early.
Tot Shabbat is a lot of fun for our
youngest congregants and their parents. We hope you decide to join us
to
celebrate Shabbat on the fourth Friday of the month.
