HomeKehilla School![]() Classes meet for two hours once a week on Wednesday or Thursday afternoons, 4:00 pm - 6:00 pm. We have small, intimate classes of 8-12 students. Teachers use discussion, drama, and art projects to teach about Jewish religion, culture and history, encouraging the expression of ideas, questions, and feelings. Families are invited to join in monthly Shabbat and Holiday celebrations. Our school meets September through May or early June, for a total of 30 sessions. In order to enter our Bar/Bat Mitzvah Program, students must complete the 5th and 6th grades at Kehilla School. In order to enroll in Kehilla School, you must be a member of Kehilla Community Synagogue. Family Shabbat Services You are warmly invited to attend our monthly Family Shabbat services. Learn more... NEW! Registration Forms for 2008-09 For details about enrolling in Kehilla School, please read School Enrollment Application Information. You will need to download and complete the following four forms and mail them to: Kehilla, 1300 Grand Avenue, Piedmont, CA 94610. For information and registration forms for our Sunday program for children entering Kindergarten, please visit Joyfully Jewish. (NOTE: You will need the Adobe Acrobat Reader to be able to view a form. If you don't have Acrobat, click here to download it.) In order for your application to be complete, you will need to fulfill any outstanding 2006-07 Synagogue dues and/or tuition payment obligations. Only the children of Kehilla members in good standing are eligible for enrollment in Kehilla School. A Message to Prospective New School Families You must be a Kehilla member in order to enroll your child in Kehilla School. If you are not currently a member of Kehilla Community Synagogue, you will need to complete the Kehilla Membership Forms. If you would prefer to have the forms mailed to you, please email Sasha@KehillaSynagogue.org or call (510) 547-2424, ext. 100. Tuition and Membership Tuition is $675; second child discounted rate $550. All families who enroll their children must be members in good standing of Kehilla Community Synagogue. Membership dues are a contribution pledge of 2.25% of your family income. Scholarships We offer some scholarships, based on donations made during Kehilla High Holiday Tzedakah Collection. To apply, please send a letter in writing requesting a specified amount to the Kehilla office. No child will be excluded for inability to pay the full amount.
