Kehilla teenagers have many opportunities to continue their learning, deepen their friendships, develop their leadership skills, and keep having fun! In addition to the programs described below, Kehilla teens enjoy going bowling, to the movies, to baseball games, and to the Santa Cruz boardwalk.


Kehilla School Madrichim

Students who are past their Bar/Bat Mitzvah year are invited to become Madrichim (Leaders) in Kehilla School, serving as teacher’s aides, supervising snack, and doing projects to support children’s learning. After an initial training period, Madrichim earn minimum wage, currently $8.00 per hour.


Midrasha

Midrasha provides the East Bay Jewish Community a continuation of Jewish learning for Middle School and High School students, in a supplementary setting. Midrasha students enthusiastically talk about learning to question, form ethical opinions, and expanding their Jewish identities. Midrasha has two campuses, one in Berkeley and one in Oakland. The main program, Berkeley Midrasha, meets on Sunday mornings, and Oakland Midrasha meets on Tuesday evenings. Kehilla provides financial support to students in both programs. Jewish Youth For Community Action (JYCA)

JYCA is housed at Kehilla, It is a leadership development and social action program for teenagers. Learn more about JYCA.


Rosh Hodesh: It's a Girl Thing!
