Kehilla exemplifies Rabbi Hillel's teaching that we must act for ourselves as well as for the world around us, and that we must do so now, in the present. We do this with time, energy, and money. Thus, many of Kehilla's myriad committees and projects are engaged in  tikkun olam, while others are more inwardly focused, ensuring that the community continues to thrive. Kehilla has committees focused on Youth Education, Bar/Bat Mitzvah, Finance, FUNdraising, Personnel, Spiritual Life Practices, Aesthetics, Governance, and Nominations. Each of these committees meets regularly, and all committee chairs meet quarterly. In addition, the Board of Trustees meets on the fourth Tuesday of every month. For more information on how you can use your time and talents to help sustain the Kehilla community, please contact Sasha at Sasha@KehillaSynagogue.org.

Like any organization, Kehilla has expenses such as staff salaries and benefits, insurance, utilities, supplies, printing, postage, mortgage payments, and communications technology.  We financially sustain the community through our membership dues, capital campaign, program fees and tuition, and donations. In Jewish tradition, joyous occasions as well as remembrances are marked with a tzedakah donation, often to the synagogue. You may donate to Kehilla's general operating fund, or you may earmark your donation to the Terumah project (our capital campaign), the Rabbi's Discretionary Fund, the Youth Education Scholarship Fund, to name a few.

Your contributions to Kehilla are generally tax deductible, although you should consult a tax professional to determine if this is true for your situation. Often, there are tax advantages to donating appreciated stock or securities; again, consult a tax professional for guidance.  Our Federal Tax I.D. Number is 94-299-0386.
