Our Jewish Chanting and Meditation Monthly Group, Kol haLev (Voice of the Heart) is led by Miriam Smallover, MFT, Morah L'Hitbodidut/Certified Jewish Meditation Teacher, and has been sponsored by Kehilla since 1996.
We invite you to join with us as Miriam weaves a theme of spiritual reflection through alternating periods of chanting and meditation. Miriam chooses themes based on the Jewish calendar or experiences such as gratitude, longing, and the rebirth of spring. No prior experience is necessary and all voices are welcome as we gather for inspiration and healing.
Group members have shared such thoughts and feelings as, "I felt so much healing from this group," "During the meditations for 'Chants of Spring,' I felt my soul emerging and growing," "I had felt distant from the Divine, and now I feel much closer," and "This group is my Passover preparation." One member elaborated: "What happens when we get together? For me, it's a combination of Miriam's spiritual guidance plus the energy we create as a group. Even if many of us are struggling, we create good energy when we chant and meditate together."
The group meets monthly on Sunday mornings from 10am-12pm, in a private home in Albany. Generally, the group meets on the fourth Sunday of the month.
Contribution: $15/Kehilla member and $18 for non-members (flexible if necessary).
