Here Comes the Pride! The Great Kehilla Same Gender Wedding Fest Email Article To a Friend View Printable Version

Sunday, July 27, 11am public ceremony.

Come join us in a celebration of love, commitment and marriage equality.

Many Kehilla lesbian and gay couples have either been married in spiritual ceremonies without a legal marriage license or were married at SF City Hall in 2004. On July 27, lesbian and gay couples who have been in committed relationships will get to indisputably solemnize their commitment under California law in the context of their Kehilla community.

Kehilla's rabbis and spiritual leaders will lead a service for these couples in a renewal of the couples' commitments and in celebration of receiving state sanction for the families that they already are. The rabbis will also sign the couples' new California marriage documents.

We, as a community will also commit ourselves to support these families and to continue to struggle for marriage equality wherever it is threatened.

Bring your blessings and best wishes. Childcare provided during the service.

All are invited to the Reception following in the Social Hall at Kehilla.

If you are planning on attending the wedding reception to be held after the wedding, please consider bringing a large vegetarian salad or dessert for our potluck.  We are asking people to bring fruit, mixed greens, pasta, or other kinds of salads as well as simple desserts, such as brownies, cookies, etc.  Please also bring serving utensils with your salads.  It would be helpful for us to know what you are bringing so we can plan accordingly and to give you information about where to bring it.  Also, if your dish has nuts in it, please identify that on the dish.

Please RSVP to Teri Gruenwald by Thursday, July 24th: terikaren@yahoo.com and let her know what you will bring.  She will then contact you.  Please give her your phone number as well as your email address.

*Blessed are we that we have lived, persisted, and survived to see this day.
