Kehilla Community Synagogue is proud to present
a wonderful new program for teenage girls starting this fall:

rosh hodesh
Rosh Hodesh: It’s A Girl Thing!

A P
rogram of Moving Traditions
for Teen-aged Girls

Group Begins on October 14
Meetings once a month on Sundays, 5:00-7:00pm

Rosh Hodesh: It’s a Girl Thing! is based on the Jewish tradition of women’s New Moon celebrations.  It builds the self-esteem, leadership skills, Jewish identity, and Jewish friendship networks of adolescent girls.

It’s a Girl Thing! meetings provide a supportive environment in which girls can explore the social and cultural issues they encounter as they become adults. The teens draw on Jewish teachings and traditions to learn how to handle the challenges they face, such as peer pressure, body image concerns, and building relationships. It’s a Girl Thing! artfully balances discussion, role-playing, crafts, writing, music, and socializing.

Cost:   $225 for the school year for Kehilla members; $325 for non-members. This fee covers all the materials and supplies needed for the program.  No girl will be turned away due to lack of funds; if the cost is prohibitive for your family, just contact Elizheva at 510-547-2424, x104.
