Kehilla's Basic Judaism Series

For any purposes, but especially good for Adult Bar/Bat Mitzvah

Taught by Rabbi David J. Cooper

Yes, you can use it for preparing for adult Bar/Bat Mitzvah. But you can also use it to prepare for conversion to Judaism. Or you can just use it as a way to learn more about your Judaism. What is it? It’s a four-module series of classes in Judaism. Each module is a five-session class taught within a two-month period. The four modules are taught over a year and a half. Anyone can take any module they want regardless of their reason  for taking it. You do not have to take the whole series, you can just take one module.

The modules are: Jewish History (taught last spring by Rabbi David), Jewish Thought (taught last fall), Jewish Practice, and Interpreting Torah (taught in Spring 2007).

For those who want to do adult Bar/Bat Mitzvah, there is an additional module where those who want to participate in a Bar/Bat Mitzvah celebration work together to design their service and their celebration.

For more information about preparing for adult Bar/Bat Mitzvah, please contact Rabbi David J. Cooper at DavidJCoop@aol.com.
